Description
- Gaviscon Cool Tablets provide fast, soothing and long lasting relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and acid indigestion
- It works by forming a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping
- When small amounts of acid escape from the stomach we experience the pain commonly called 'heartburn' because the food pipe is more sensitive to acid than the stomach
- A small amount of acid in the wrong place can cause a lot of pain
- Symptoms can last for 3 hours or more and are often made worse by eating food
- These tablets are sugar and gluten free

You can take this product if you are pregnant or breast feeding
Active Ingredients
Tablet contains
- 250mg sodium alginate
- 133.5mg sodium bicarbonate
- 80mg calcium carbonate.
Directions
- Adults, the elderly and children over 12 - when symptoms occur take two to four tablets after meals and at bedtime, or as directed
- Children under 12 years - should only be taken on medical advice
- Chew thoroughly before swallowing
Caution
- Each four tablet dose contains 10.6mmol of sodium and 3.2mmol of calcium. If you have been advised a diet restricted in any of these please consult your doctor before taking this product.
- If you have phenylketonuria, note that the product is sweetened with aspartame, a source of phenylalanine
- This treatment may be less effective if you have decreased amounts of gastric acid produced in your stomach
- If you forget a dose, it is not necessary to double the dose next time, just carry on taking as before
- If symptoms persist after 7 days consult your doctor
- If you take too many tablets you may feel bloated. It is unlikely to cause you any harm, but please consult your doctor or pharmacist
- Do not take if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients as skin rashes and difficulty in breathing have been reported
- These tablets contain xylitol, which may very rarely cause a laxative effect
- Consult your doctor if you experience these or any other side effects
