• Short-term relief of indigestion, heartburn and excess acid symptoms

Active Ingredients

Tablet contains

• Famotidine 10 mg,providing 12 hour relief
• Antacids Calcium carbonate 800 mg and Magnesium hydroxide 165 mg providing immediate relief

Directions

• Adults and children over 16 - chew 1 tablet
• Repeat the dose if symptoms return
• Maximum 2 tablets in 24 hours
• Children under 16 - not recommended

Caution

• Famotidine is generally well tolerated and safe.A beneficial symptom response to famotidine does not preclude the presence of other illnesses such as stomach cancer so, if after 6 days of continuously using Pepcidtwo the patient suffers from continuous symptoms the doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before taking further tablets
• For this reason not to be used in middle aged patients with recently changed symptoms or sudden weight loss, difficulty swallowing or persistent abdominal discomfort without consulting the doctor
• Not to be taken by those with moderate kidney failure or severe liver impairment
• Avoid in pregnancy and nursing mothers

Side effects

• These are rare but major side effects include agitation, anemia, confusion, depression, easy bruising or bleeding, hallucinations, hair loss, irregular heartbeat, rash, visual changes, and yellowing of the skin or eyes
• Minor side effects,include constipation, diarrhoea, fatigue, headache, insomnia, muscle pain, nausea, and vomiting
