Description
- The Paludrine/Avloclor Travel Pack is a pharmacy medicine that can be supplied without a prescription.This pack satisfies the requirements for malarial areas such as India where both paludrine and chloroquine in combination are needed to be taken
- Supplied as two separate tablets in a calendar pack showing 2 tablets of Paludrine (Proguanil 100mg per tablet) daily and 2 tablets of Avloclor(Chloroquine 250mg per tablet ,equivalent of 155mg of chloroquine base per tablet) each week
N.B. Paludrine/Avloclor is only supplied in complete packs of 7 strips (weeks) supply
Directions
- Adults - One week before departure to malarious zone = 1 strip (7 days) i.e. Two tablets Paludrine daily at same time each day ( 200mg ), and two tablets Avloclor (300mg) on the same day each week
- For each week you are in malarious zone = 1 strip/week
- For four weeks upon return = 4 strips
- i.e. For one week away you will require 6 strips of tablets
- For two weeks away you will require 7 strips of tablets
- For each additional week away you will require an extra strip.
- Children - Avloclor dosage to be taken once per week on the same day, Paludrine to be taken daily at the same time each day
- 9 - 14 years - One and a Half Tablets Avloclor, One and a Half Tablets Paludrine
- 1 - 4 years - Half Tablet Avloclor, Half Tablet Paludrine
- 5 - 8 years - One Tablet Avloclor, One Tablet Paludrine
