Description

  • Strefen is clinically proven to reduce sore throat pain after 15 minutes and lasts for up to 3 hours

Active Ingredients

Lozenge contains

  •  The anti-inflammatory ingredient Flurbiprofen 8.75mg

Directions

  • For adults and children over the age of 12 years only
  • Suck or dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every three to six hours as required
  • Maximum of five lozenges in 24 hours
  • The lozenges are recommended to be used for a maximum of three days
  • To avoid local irritation, the lozenges should be moved around the mouth while sucking

Caution

Please see a doctor if your sore throat

  • Is mild and lasts for more than 2 weeks
  • Is severe and does not improve after 3 days
  • Is in a child with a fever and persistent sore throat
  • You have pain on opening mouth
  • You also has a cough with blood stained sputum
  • You have difficulty breathing
  • You have a skin rash
  • You have a swelling on one side of the throat with severe pain hoarseness of voice which does not improve with time or treatment
  • You have severe joint pains,neck stiffness and dislike of bright lights

     

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to flurbiprofen, aspirin and other NSAIDs or other lozenge ingredients
  • Existing or history of peptic ulceration
  • Do not take if you have ever had wheezing, a runny nose or an itchy rash (hives) after taking flurbiprofen or other NSAIDs
  • Consult your pharmacist or doctor before use if you take any other medicines or pain killers, if you have asthma, or kidney, heart, liver, high blood pressure or blood clotting problems
  • Pregnancy and lactation, avoid use in the last three months of pregnancy
  • Flurbiprofen appears in breast milk in very low concentrations and is unlikely to adversely affect the breast-fed infant

Side effects

Dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, diarrhoea, mouth ulcers, fluid retention, oedema and exacerbation of peptic ulceration and perforation. Urticaria, angioedema and rashes of varying description. In rare cases, jaundice and thrombocytopenia, (usually reversible on withdrawal of flurbiprofen), aplastic anaemia and agranulocytosis.
