Description

  • The product contains Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic to relieve pain and fever and phenylephrine, a decongestant to relieve nasal congestion.

Helps to relieve symptoms including

  • Non-Drowsy

Active Ingredients

Sachets contain

  • Paracetamol 1000 mg
  • Phenylephrine hydrochloride 12.2 mg
  • Sucrose
  • Citric acid
  • Natural lemon flavours
  • Sodium citrate
  • Ascorbic acid (vitamin C)
  • Acesulfame potassium (E950)
  • Aspartame (E951)
  • Quinoline yellow (E104)

Directions

  • Age Dosage Adults, elderly and children aged 12: Dissolve one sachet in hot, but not boiling water. Stir until dissolved and drink
  • Do not take more than 4 sachets in 24 hours. Leave at least 4 to 6 hours between doses
  • Do not give to children under 12 years except on medical advice
  • Do not exceed the stated dose If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or pharmacist immediately
  • Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage

Caution

Do not take this product if

  • You have a serious heart condition
  • You have high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • You are allergic to any ingredient
  • You are taking any other paracetamol containing product

Take special care with this product if

  • You have liver or kidney problems
  • You drink alcohol regularly
  • You have a blood circulation problem (including Raynaud's Phenomenon)
  • You suffer from diabetes or phenylketonuria
  • You are taking or have taken in the last two weeks, Monoamine oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) used to treat depression
  • You are taking any other medicines including:
    colestyramine (to lower blood cholesterol). metoclopramide or domperidone (to treat nausea or vomiting). anticoagulants (to thin the blood, e.g. warfarin or coumarins). tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates, beta blockers, sympathomimetic drugs such as decongestants, or some drugs used to treat asthma. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines
  • If you are unsure if another medicine you are taking is one of those mentioned above, then show the pack to your pharmacist
  • Please consult your doctor or pharmacist even if these statements were applicable to you at any time in the past
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even those not prescribed
  • Important Information about some of the ingredients in Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength Sachets Non-Drowsy: Contains Aspartame (E951), a source of phenylalanine equivalent to 14 mg per sachet. May be harmful for people with phenylketonuria
  • Each sachet contains 1.9 g sucrose. This should be taken into account if you have diabetes mellitus. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product
  • Sodium content: 118 mg per 5 g sachet. To be taken into consideration by patients on a controlled sodium diet
  • Pregnancy or Breast-feeding Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine

Possible Side-effects

Side-effects are not common with this product and when they occur they are usually mild and temporary. Allergic reactions (such as skin rash), difficulty sleeping, restlessness, tremor, anxiety, hallucinations, raised blood pressure, increase or decrease in heart rate or urinary retention. There are rare reports of blood disorders although these were not necessarily related to paracetamol.
