• Adult Meltus for Chesty Coughs with Congestion provides symptomatic relief of chesty coughs and congestion associated with colds and influenza without causing drowsiness
• For oral use
• Relieves chesty coughs with congestion
• Loosens mucous in the bronchial tubes
• Warming menthol vapours help ease breathing
• A maximum strength decongestant clears nasal congestion, blocked up sinuses and a runny nose
• No drowsiness

Active Ingredients

Each 5ml liquid contains

• Guaiphenesin 100mg
• Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 30mg

Directions

• Shake the bottle well before use
• Adults and children 12 and over - two 5ml spoonfuls to be taken three times a day
• The elderly - see in-pack leaflet before taking this medicine
• Children under 12 - not suitable

Caution

• Do not use if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients
• Do not use if you suffer from high blood pressure or heart problems, if in doubt consult your doctor of pharmacist
• Do not use if you are taking a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI for depression) or if you have ceased taking one within the last two weeks
• Do not take if you are taking the antibacterial product Furazolidine
• This product contains 9.4% v/v of Alcohol. Each 5ml dose can contain up to 0.38g of Alcohol.
• Can be harmful for those suffering from liver disease, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain injury or disease, as well as pregnant women and children. It may also modify or increase the effect of other medicines

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if

• Under 12 years of age
• Suffer from high blood pressure or heart problems
• If taking other medicines such as antihypertensive agents (for high blood pressure) decongestant, tricylic antidepressants (for depression), appetite suppressant, or amphetamine-like psychostimulants (for depression)
• If pregnant or breast-feeding
• Suffer from diabetes, have problems with your thyriod, elevated eye pressure or enlarged prostate gland
• If you have an intolerance to some sugars, glucose and sucrose

Side Effects

• Insomnia (sleeplessness)
• Rarely, sleep disturbances and hallucinations
• Urinary retention in patients with an enlarged prostate gland
• If you experience such a reaction or any other form of reaction not mentioned above, following use of this product, then discontinue its use immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist
