Description

  • Non-Drowsy Symptomatic relief of conditions where upper respiratory congestion is associated with pyrexia and/or pain
  • These conditions include the common cold, influenza, sinusitis and nasopharyngitis

Active Ingredients

Tablet Contains

  • Paracetamol 500 mg
  • Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60 mg

Directions

  • Adults and elderly - 1 tablet every 4-6 hours
  • Children 6-12 years - half a tablet every 4-6 hours
  • Under 6 years - not recommended
  • Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours

Caution

  • Do not exceed stated does
  • As with all medicines, if you are pregnant,breastfeeding or currently taking any other medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product
  • If symptoms persist consult your doctor
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children
  • Many products including cold remedies contain paracetamol.
  • Always read the label and do not exceed the stated dose
  • In case of overdose seek medical advice urgently because of the risk of serious delayed liver damage
  • Side effects with paracetamol are rare but should you experience skin rash or other side effects report to your doctor or pharmacist

Do not take this product if

  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients
  • You have high blood pressure or severe heart disease
  • You are taking or have taken within the last two weeks, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), used to treat depression
  • You are taking other paracetamol or pseudoephedrine containing products

Take special care with this product if

  • You have liver or kidney disorders, including alcoholic liver disease
  • You have high blood pressure or heart disease, diabetes, an over-active thyroid, glaucoma (pressure in the eye) or prostate problems
  • You are taking other medicines including - Decongestants or stimulants, Appetite suppressants, Tricyclic antidepressants, Medicines to treat high blood pressure (e.g.α- and ß-blockers, bretylium, betanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine and methyldopa), Cholestyramine (to lower blood cholesterol) , Metoclopramide and domperidone (to treat nausea and vomiting), Anti-coagulants (to thin the blood e.g. warfarin)
  • You can use this product while you are taking oral contraceptives ('the pill') or tablets for epilepsy but they may not work so well on your pain and fever

  • If you are unsure if another medicine you are taking is one of those mentioned above, then show the pack to your pharmacist
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even those not prescribed                                                       
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine
  • Side effects are not common with this product and when they do occur, they are usually mild and temporary

  • Some people feel restless, or have trouble getting to sleep. A few people have bad dreams or hallucinations but these are rare                                              
  • Occasionally people get skin rashes that are sometimes itchy
  • A few men, especially men with prostate problems may have more trouble passing water                                                                                                         
  • There have been rare reports of blood disorders but these were not necessarily related to paracetamol
  • If you notice any side-effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist

Medicines containing pseudoephedrine are legally limited to only one item per order, because this has in some cases been used to manufacture illegal drugs.
